Coating Technologies Ltd is one of the first manufacturers in New Zealand to release these specialty Silicon Resin Emulsion Paint (SREP) coatings to the market. Based on European technology using the extraordinary properties of Silicon, these coatings have been used on concrete, cement plaster and light weight cladding systems for some 26 years. The benefits of these coatings to builders are extensive.

These coatings “breathe”, while providing an excellent “rain shield” against moisture. Siltec Facade provides a coating that, because it allows moisture to escape from the building substrate, protects the cladding system while resisting the growth of mould and algae. Siltec Façade is the perfect coating match to the concrete block, plaster and EIFS construction of buildings, imparting a level of protection not previously available in New Zealand.

What are the benefits of Silicon Resin paints?
  • Penetration of moisture through the coating into the substrate
  • Moisture vapour does not pass easily through coating trapping it in the substrate under the coating
  • Prone to cracking due to swelling and shrinkage of substrate, particularly if insufficient coating thickness
  • Efflorescence and salt damage caused by hydration and crystallisation
  • Lime leaching
  • Susceptible to dirt pick-up
